Lynyrd Skynyrd is taking the stage once again, after an unplanned hiatus thanks to Covid. The band took the stage last weekend at Panama City Beach’s annual Gulf Coast Jam, kicking off their six month tour. If you missed the Jam, there are plenty of other opportunities to catch their live show.

Their Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour was interrupted 15 months ago and that down time has given them a chance to postpone retirement a bit longer. Johnny Van Zant shared the reasoning behind the tour.
“We were two shows into the end of the three-year plan for the farewell tour, when the virus hit and everything was just gone,” said Van Zant. “Once something is taken away from you – music and touring in our case – you truly realize how important it is and such a part of your life. Music is a great healer, and that’s what we all turn to when things are good or bad. A Skynyrd show is a family affair, and we want these dates to help heal our fans as much as ourselves.”
There will be lots of special guests on select dates. Guests such as TESLA, Kansas, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Blackberry Smoke, Allman Betts Band, and The Marshall Tucker Band.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers kicked off the first of 30 concerts and are currently preparing to take the stage at Country Thunder Iowa on the 13th. The initial 30 dates range from coast to coast, border to border. The tour wraps November 19th.
